Bringing Stories to Life: Filmmaking at Vivek High School
At Vivek High School, we believe that education goes beyond textbooks — it is about expression, imagination, and meaningful collaboration. One of the most dynamic ways we bring this philosophy to life is through the powerful medium of film. Our in-house filmmaking initiative is more than just an art project; it is a community-building experience that engages students, teachers, parents, and support staff alike. By involving the entire school fraternity in the process — from scripting and acting to production and direction — we offer our learners a hands-on opportunity to explore storytelling, creativity, and teamwork. These films become platforms where voices are heard, talents are discovered, and historical or socially relevant themes are brought alive with authenticity and heart.
The process includes extensive training, rehearsals, and mentorship, helping participants build confidence, communication skills, and an appreciation for the collaborative nature of cinematic art. Through this initiative, we aim to foster artistic expression, encourage interdisciplinary learning, and strengthen bonds within our school community.
‘Main Ya Bhagat’: A Tribute to a Revolutionary Spirit
In continuation of this vision, Vivek High School Studios, in collaboration with Vivek High School Mohali, presented its latest cinematic venture: Main Ya Bhagat, a film that brings to life the inspiring story of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, one of India’s most iconic freedom fighters. Directed by Nisha Luthra, this project stands as a testament to the creative spirit and collective effort of the Vivek community. Featuring a talented ensemble cast of students, teachers, parents, and support staff, the film is the result of months of dedication, training, and passionate rehearsal.
Through Main Ya Bhagat, we not only pay tribute to a revolutionary hero but also demonstrate the power of storytelling in building empathy, historical awareness, and artistic discipline. This film is more than just a performance — it is a reflection of our values, our collaborative spirit, and our belief in nurturing every voice within the school community.
