BASKETBALL LEAGUE (BBL)
The Basketball League is an annual intra-school sports event organised by the school for pupils from years 4 to 10. It provides a structured platform for students to take part in competitive basketball within the school environment. Now in its 12th season, the league continues as a regular feature of the school’s co-curricular calendar for the 2025–26 academic year. To ensure fair play and age-appropriate participation, the league is divided into three divisions. Division 1 includes pupils from Years 4 and 5, Division 2 comprises Years 6 and 7, while Division 3 is made up of pupils from Years 8, 9, and 10. This structure allows students to compete against others of a similar age and developmental level.
Teams are formed at the beginning of the season, and fixtures are scheduled throughout the school year. Matches may follow a round-robin format, with top teams progressing to semi-finals and finals, depending on the number of participants in each division. Parents turn coaches and mentor the children in addition to the sports faculty of the school. The opening and closing ceremonies are attended by parents, in which felicitation of the achievers takes place. The Basketball League aims to promote physical activity, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students. It also offers an opportunity for pupils to engage in organised sport, develop discipline, and represent their year groups in a structured and supportive setting.
